Danube University - teaching Intercultural Competences in Krems (AT)

Project Objectives

· Unit 1 will start from the analysis of a relevant examples and cases (EU Research Project Euronet, 2001-2004 and the INTER project on intercultural education 2003-2005). It will aim at the abstraction and distillation of cultural clashes and cultural richness of transcultural cooperation, and the analysis of cultural traps and tools for prevention.

· Unit 2, via smaller syndicate groups, will add the individual experiences of participants in, and a ranking of values for, their intercultural cooperation - around the intercultural dimension in project design, implementation and evaluation.

· Unit 3 will touch on the analysis of risks and successes in the management of EU projects: values, hierarchies, power and interests. It will result in the joint elaboration of „traps and tools“ – a checklist of how to design, plan, implement, and evaluate/valorise endeavours of transcultural cooperation (drawing both on this module and entire seminar).
