NEF - Analysis of European foundation’s initiatives in the fields of cultural diversity and intercultural dialogue

Project Objectives

· Explore the range of foundations’ policies, approaches and initiatives to promote awareness of cultural diversity and intercultural dialogue in Europe
· Identify projects/activities of an exemplary nature and analyze the key factors that are conducive to ensuring effectiveness and sustainable success (project design, external conditions, stakeholder involvement etc)
· Offer a conceptual framework for best practice to enhance the policy impact of foundation initiatives
· Stimulate discussions between foundations, the cultural sector at large and public actors regarding ways how to improve cross-fertilisation of ideas and activities and to capitalize from synergies

(Eventual) Outcomes

· A concise study of about 20-25 pages and a documentation of additional materials (regional reports, data collection and interview summaries)
· ‘Case studies’ on innovative projects
· A set of policy-oriented recommendations to inform future activities of foundations

Navreme’s contribution

Navreme will make an analysis of selected foundation initiatives in the fields of cultural diversity and intercultural dialogue, which aims at (1) identifying examples of best practice, including project conditions and impact; and (2) formulating policy recommendations for foundations and the cultural sector at large, as well as for public and private stakeholders at local and European levels.
