"a-stra®"
process for mutual strategy development with artists:

a-stra 2007

David Jourdan

a-stra 2006

Katja Razumovsky (www.razumovsky.at)

Objectives
For navreme, the artists’ work is meant to provide examples of future-oriented views, projections, connotations, visions or scenarios for the company, and to trigger joint considerations on conception, design and implementation processes.
By cooperating with navreme, the artist benefits from enhanced visibility and reputation, insights and recommendations by the company, as well as the right to refer to this cooperation in her/his portfolio.

Process
The following steps are undertaken, in cooperation with navreme:
1) Study: the artists studies the navreme web-site (especially newslog), and the latest strategic plans in detail, and engages in a mutual dialogue with navreme members;
2) Production: on this basis, produce a piece of conceptual art, a part of which can be rendered in the Internet on a special art-space of the navreme web-site, and 2 copies in printed form (format 100 x 100 cm, deadline 2006: 20 January);
3) Message: the strategic message from the artwork to navreme, and vice-versa, is to be discussed with navreme in a joint meeting;
4) Presentation: a joint public presentation will be arranged (2006: at birthparty on 28 January);
5) Exploitation: the copyright for all products will be held by the artist, and by navreme for the process. However, navreme will be granted the right a) to present the product publicly together with the artist; b) to permanently feature the electronic version of the product on its web-site; c) to host one of the 2 copies of the hard-copy in its offices on the basis of a permanent loan, with the option for eventual acquisition.
6) Resources: navreme will cover (moderate) production costs and compensation - to be agreed with the artist.

Outcomes
Eventually and growing year by year, a gallery of a-stra products will create a vision of navreme over time. The hard-copy outcomes will be hosted in the navreme office, and electronic versions will be featured at a special art-space of navreme's web-site. This may include links to similar a-stra processes and events at navreme’s partner companies throughout Europe.
