INTER-ALFA - intercultural education for and
with Latin America
Project Objectives
This project is part of the EU-ALFA, a programme of co-operation
between higher education institutions of the European Union and
Latin America. Based on a proposal by the INTER
project group for expansion of the 2002-2005 INTER
project to Latin America, the work plan foresees a localisation
of teacher training materials on intercultural education developed
for Chile, Columbia, Ecuador and Mexico, starting in early 2007.
Project Objectives
Elaborate a proposal on Intercultural Education in the Euro-Latin-American
post graduation level. A situation diagnosis (necessity analysis)
of each country of the participant institutions will be made. This
initial analysis will help us identify priority performance lines
about our scope: post-graduation in intercultural education formation.
This post-graduation will offer two modalities:
a) by attendance (in the participant institutions)
b) via distance (virtual learning community).
Objectives of the Network
The network has as a priority the generation of an Euro-Latin-American
space of cooperation among the participant institutions. It also
aims at the improvement of a formative offer of superior education
in the scope of the intercultural Education, in both formal and
non-formal dimensions. We intend to elaborate a program of formation
at the level of university post-graduation from an analysis of the
necessities of the participant institutions and thanks to their
contributions. In order to reach this objective one must count on
the valuable previous experience of cooperation carried out in previous
projects (Comenius Program) in which most of the members that compose
the network have been involved.
