Graham Attwell, Bremen
degree in history from Swansea University, owns 2 companies in Wales: Pontydysgu (education consulting) and KnowNet (community software). His research interest is at the intersection between pedagogy and ICT. His favourite activity is talking to and drinking with interesting people.




Bernd Baumgartl, Vienna (navreme wissensentwicklung)
PhD in Political Science, worked as a researcher at the European University Institute in Florence, and as an EU official. He speaks 10 European languages, has lived and worked in Mexico, Bulgaria, Belgium, the United States and Italy, likes cooking and plays the Violoncello.




Margarita del Olmo Pintado, Madrid
Doctorate in Anthopology, works as a senior researcher at the Spanish equivalent of an Academy of Sciences (CSIC), and participates or leads a series of projects on ingration. Has lived and worked i the USA, and in 2008, for the third time is the "researcher in residence" at navreme in Vienna. Her favourite work tool is "participatory observation". Rigorously starts smoking only after lunch - but then enjoys double.

 

Michael Daxner, Vienna/Oldenburg
Doctorate in Education, President Emeritus and Professor of Sociology at University of Oldenburg, former PIO for education on behalf of UNMIK in Kosovo, and consultant in Afghanistan. Interested in foreign policy and soft sector policies, in particular in South-East Europe. When on mission, keen on founding universities and making people think. His free time is for mountaineering and fusions of international cuisine.



Robert Dimitrovski, Skopje (cajtig dooel)
is a professor of management at FON, a private university in Macedonia. He holds a M.A. in human resoures management and a PhD in management, and was the leader of the Macedonian National Observatory on vocational education and labour market issues, established by the European Training Foundation. Since 1999, he participated with navreme in several international projects financed by the EU and other donors. He is also proud sponsor of his daughter, a pop-singer.




Jochen Fried, Salzburg
Holds a doctorate in German philology, and specialises in the policy, organisation, and reform of Higher Education. As Director of the Salzburg Seminar Universities Project and International Study Program, his contacts span all of Europe and America. His favourite region is Istria.





Justus Henke, Vienna
Studied economics in Berlin, Lisbone and Vienna. He has worked as Web-Designer for five years, was research assistant at the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW) and was a junior researcher at the navreme office. Since November 2006 research position at the Austrian Central Office of Statistics, and independent expert for navreme (including the design of this web-site). Likes bicycling and improves in guitar playing.




Jenny Hughes, Pontypridd
Holds a doctorate in Pedagogy, and worked as a senior education manager in the Welsh government. Long-standing experience as adviser and evaluator of EU activities across Europe, and as a university teacher and writer on evaluation issues. Currently director of the Centre for Research in Education and Development (CRED), her preferred activity is shopping on the green markets. 


Petra Jedličková, Prague (navreme boheme sro)
M.A. in Philosophy, served as project manager and IT consultant in NGOs and state entities. Back in 1995, she ran the first Czech virtual journal on information society issues. Currently working as a teacher and trainer, she is familiar with most EU accession requirements. For relax she exercises yoga, or takes her Slovak sheep dog for a walk.



Gabriela Krstevska, Skopje (cajtig dooel)
is an experienced project manager, and responible for logistics and administration. She has lived in Germany for several years. Experience in working with international projects, Soros Foundation and national universities, as an expert and assistant. Often spends a weekend at the shores of Lake Ohrid.


 

Nina Kolybashkina, Simferopol/Oxford
Has an MSc in Social Policy and is currently doing her DPhil research in the University of Oxford looking at community development and ethnography of transition. Back in Ukraine she worked for UNDP with the projects on conflict prevention and social services provision. She is a founding member and active supporter of several Crimean NGOs in the field of youth development and education, and was a UN Volunteer in Kosovo. Loves to travel, practicing yoga and belly dancing.

 


Michael Kummer, Bordeaux/Vienna
studied languages (Spanish, English), holds a Master Degree in Economics, and is currently enrolled as a PhD student at the University of Bordeaux. He has informal teamwork and evaluation experience within youth organisations, and works on immigration social policy and international development. His thesis analysed the correlation between natural desasters and economic growth. His leisure time interests range from strategy board games, to arts and skiing.

 


Juvy Loyola Valdehueza, Manila
holds a MA in Peace and Conflict Studies (European University Center for Peace Studies, Austria), and has a long experience working with local and international NGOs in the Philippines. She underwent intensive training in Local Capacities for Peace/Do No Harm as a tool to analyze the impact of aid programs in conlfict zones. Her expertise revolves around the area of  program development, management and evaluation, for DED and GTZ.  She is presently a consultant of CORDAID to monitor and evaluate programs related to vulnerable sectors (women and children) and peace. Besides her work she enjoys travelling and cooking.

 

Luisa Andrade Lobo de Rezende, Vienna
holds a degree in pedagogy from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) in Brazil, and diplomas in indigenous school education, from UFMG, intercultural education from the Red Interamericana de Formación de Formadores de Educadores Indígenas (RIF-FOEI) in Mexico and environmental education from Fundação Universitária de Brasilia (FUBRA). She likes travelling and knowing other cultures.



Fatma Mızıkacı, Ankara (navreme bilgi geliştirme)
is an evaluation specialist, educated in languages and pedagogy (PhD). Has worked for UNESCO-CEPES in Bucharest (RO), and participated in several European projects on HE studies, seniority, demography. She is a member of the European Evaluation Society, teaches future teachers at universities, and currently leads operations of navreme in Turkey and Cyprus from Ankara (TR). Author of a book on the Turkish Higher Education System, co-author of "Tools for Process Evaluation" (navreme series, vol. 2). Relaxes from and concentrates for work in a sculpture workshop - her own pieces of art are predominantly made of clay.



Rita Naseniece, Riga
is a Communication, Public Relations and Change Management Expert with an international and national development project background. Since 1997 she worked for Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in the Balkans, and for Government of Latvia in EU pre-accession campaign. She loves opera, forests and swimming in the sea.




Tzako Pantaleev, Sofia
Philosophical Doctor of Moscow State University, was Director of the Human Resources Development Centre in Bulgaria, and was involved in the introduction of EU programmes in the education sector into Bulgaria. At present also Professor of Human Resources at the New Bulgarian University and Director of an Agency under the Bulgarian Defense Ministry. He is a dedicated tennis player.


Eva Pomberger, Vienna

student of international development at Vienna University. Started out at navreme as an intern, and since 2008 acts as project assistant. Born in Mürzzuschlag, she is a typical Styrian, who on weekends hikes the Semmering mountains, and afterwards parties in her mom's Café.




Stefan Popenici, Bucharest (navreme resurse umane srl)
Holds a Doctorate in Education, taught courses at Bucharest University, “Al I. Cuza” Iasi University, De La Salle University (Manila, Philippines) and Simon Fraser University, Vancouver (CA) where he finished a Post-Doctoral Fellowship. Interested in imagination and education, internationalization of education, innovation in education, inclusive strategies and education for marginalized groups. He is the CEO of navreme in Romania. His free time is for hiking and painting.




Helmut Schramke, Belgrade/Tbilisi
Doctorate in Biology, has been working on information technology and e-learning for 30 years(!) in Germany, England, France, Russia and the United States. He conducted organisational reform projects at the University of Vienna or the Municipality of Berlin and in South-East Europe. Runs a EU project in Georgia, contributes to the International Delphic Committee, and loves horse-back riding.




Jakub Štogr, Prague
Keen on new ways of communication, cooperation and technology usage, especially virtual aspects related with online games, virtual communities and spaces like "SecondLife", human-human and human-computer interaction in the (post)modern era and ICT influences on everyday life. For a long time scout leader of youths (and still continuing) implementing experiential, adventure and/or outdoor education together with LARP (live action role playing) principles. Studying at Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Arts, Institute of Information Studies and Librarianship. Enjoys historical fencing and middle-age "living history" concept.

 

Zulfiya Tursunova, Winnipeg/Tashkent
Zulfiya Tursunova is pursuing her doctorate in Canada, has Master degrees in Education Administration from Kent State University, Ohio (USA) and in Peace and Conflict Studies from European University Center for Peace Studies, in Schlaining (AT). She has extensive experience in management of higher education in Central Asia. Zulfiya develops projects on conflict transformation on Central Asia and collaborates with international donor organizations, local NGOs, universities, and other organizations. Her hobby number one - which she hardly practices now - is ground tennis, but she goes to a fitness centre every morning.
